A special holiday message from Sheriff Ed Gonzalez: Hello, friends. I’m Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. On behalf of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office family, I’d like to wish you and your family a Happy Hannukah, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, and a Happy New Year. This is a season of giving, and that’s never been more important than here in 2017. Although the Hurricane Harvey flood waters receded months ago, there is still profound need in our neighborhoods. Here at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, our team was grateful for the opportunity to collect more than 500 gifts for children being served by the Harris County Children’s Assessment Center. In the coming days, our friends at Navidad en el Barrio will bring gifts to children of inmates here at the Harris County Jail. Harris County is a generous place, filled with folks willing to do whatever it takes to ensure a happy holiday season for all. As you celebrate these holidays, I want to encourage you to take time to support those in need. Houses of worship throughout our community can connect you with those in need. So can the many other reputable charities serving the people of Harris County. I am proud, and humbled, to serve as sheriff of a county where we turn toward those in need, not away from them. That’s what makes Harris County Special. Thank you. God bless you, and God bless Harris County. Your Sheriff, Ed Gonzalez
